  • Traveling to Europe

Hello. I would like to plan a trip to Europe and take my Service Dog With me. She is a Long-Haired Miniature Dachshund and is well traveled. She has been on cruises, long flights, long car ride, etc. I will not be going to the UK. Does it make a difference whether we enter through Paris or Amsterdam? Any advice appreciated!

Hello - the regulations for the EU are quite the same except Finland, Norway and the UK require tapeworm treatments between one and five days of entry. If your service dog is microchipped, then vaccinated for rabies (or, if microchipped, has had at least one rabies vaccination after the chip was implanted and at least 21 days have expired since the vaccination) you can enter any EU country with an Annex IV form. They are good for 4 months of travel within the EU. Just get the Annex IV form for the first country you enter in the EU, whether it is France or the Netherlands.
