  • Pet transport - Canada to ireland

I have been living in Dublin for nine months and want to bring my shih poo over from Canada. Is it possible to do so after I've been here for so long? If the travel within five days of owner is mandatory, would I be able to go to Canada and simply fly back with him? Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

Bama089 - traveling to Canada to pick up your Shih Poo is not necessary, but it would make things a lot easier. If you or your representative travel with or within 5 days of your pup, then it can travel under the Pet Travel Scheme which preferred to commercial travel. You can find the difference in regulations here under HEALTH CERTIFICATES. http://www.pettravel.com/immigration/Ireland.cfm.
