  • From Turks and Caicos to Canada to Spain

    Hello everyone,

I presently live in the Turks and Caicos Islands with my “island cat”. I will travel with her to Canada with all necessary documentation (but she will not have the ISO microchip and titer test at that time).

I will stay in Canada for 4 to 6 months and travel to Spain after.

While in Canada, I will prepare all travel requirements and documents for entering Spain (ISO microchip, titer test, rabies vaccination, health certificate, etc.).

My question is: since my cat is originally from the Turks and Caicos Islands, will my paperwork done in Canada be accepted to enter Spain?

    Thank you very much!

Hello Genevieve - yes, the EU does not require that your cat live in any particular country for any amount of time prior to entering. The forms should be completed by a veterinarian in Canada and endorsed by the CFIA and your cat will be considered entering Spain from Canada.
