  • During Covid travel to Australia

Wondering if any of these systems or requirements have changed due to the coronavirus lockdowns and mandates. We would be entering @ Sydney, and mandatorily quarantined for 2 weeks.

Do our pets join us in quarantine since it is longer than the 10 days required for pets?

Do our pets still need to go to Melbourne? I know there are certain border restrictions between states, how does that work with us being legally held in Sydney.

If something would happen extending our quarentine due to covid, what would happen to our pets.

Yobtar - at this time, animals arrive into Melbourne International Airport, are collected by the department and taken to the Post Entry Quarantine (PEQ) facility in Mickleham. Pet owners are responsible for arranging the collection of their pets from the quarantine facility whether in person or through an agent. If you are in quarantine at the end of the 10 day quarantine, then you will need an agent to claim your pet and arrange for transport to Sydney. We do not have offices in Australia; however, you can search for an agent in this country at IPATA.org.
