Re: Travelling to UK from Republic of Ireland

If you are traveling from Thailand to the UK, here is the process that must be followed: your cats must be microchipped, then vaccinated. (in that order, but same vet visit is fine.). Then wait 30 days (not including the day of the vet visit) and have your vet do a titer test. The sample is sent to an approved lab. Assuming acceptable results, your cats can enter the UK 90 days after the date the blood was drawn for the titer test. They will need an Annex II form for the UK completed by a licensed vet within 10 days of travel. The reason for the long wait is that Thailand is considered a high-rabies country by the UK and EU.

You can find more details here and links to instructions and forms if you need them: http://www.pettravel.com/immigration/UnitedKingdom.cfm. Your cats must arrive at an approved airport as manifest cargo. Let us know if you have further questions.
