  • Advice needed for cargo shipping a parakeet

    Calling all experienced bird shippers!

I have to ship my parakeet in cargo and the requirements state there must be a perch attached inside the crate. I cannot find anything to buy that's geared towards this accommodation, everything seems to be made to attach to a regular bird cage, which we obviously cannot ship her in. Any advice or suggestions of products appreciated!

Hello - you would need a perch for your pet and you can use a dowel. You can drill a small hole at the end and wire it to a ventilation hole. You will also need to cover the door and ventilation holds with a fine material like cheesecloth so air can get through but your bird cannot poke their feet outside of the crate.

Could you please let me know what measures did you take to ensure safe transportation?
      Thanks in advance!
