l live in Mexico at the moment, but have tavelled back and forth with by dog into the US,where we used to live, all my pets were given a 3 year rabies shot ,at first when returning back into Mexico, they did question this, as here they do it yearly, but the second time l travelled ,back into Mexico, they would not except the American rabies certicate ,even though it was well in date,so a vet was called to the airport, and l was so upset to,have to get my dog, vacinated again, for rabies,my vet here in Mexico did not know that this would happen - so now we are returning to live back in the US,my 3 dogs ,are in line with all the shots, but l was wondering if l need to get my cat ,a new rabies shot even though it does not run out until late next year,do you think they will question this here in Mexcio at the airport,l know it won't be a problem in the US,but should l just get her vacinated, even though its not due- could they refuse my cat

As long as you have a valid health certificate for the United States the officials at departure will not question the rabies vaccination since you are leaving not entering the country.
Officially Mexico does recognize the 3 year vaccine but not all of the immigration officers are aware of the rules.
