  • Traveling to Mexico by air with a cat

    We are planning to move to Guadalajara, Mexico from San Antonio, Texas around July 1, 2012. We have a 10 year old domestic shorthair cat, and would like to take her with us on the plane. There are soooo many rules and regulations, so confusing! Have any of you traveled with a cat from the US to Mexico? Please tell me anything/everything...Thank you!

    I have personally taken a pet into Mexico by plane on more than one occassion. However, you need to check with the airline to make sure it is okay to transport the pet in the cabin. Mexico the country does not care but all airlines do not accept them. The pet must have the bi-lingual veterinary certificate and be treated for internal and external parasites.
