  • Travelling with a dog from sweden to Uk

Hi... Im returning back to the Uk from Sweden with my Cockerpoo in September. We have been in Sweden 3 years so she has her microchip and passport. We will be driving from Sweden ,ferry to germany and then driving through Germany,Netherlands Belgium and France. Getting into Sweden was easy ..her documents were never checked. But I have been told that it is harder when bringing them back again. Does anyone know if she will need her rabies injections to leave Sweden and enter the Uk.im really confused as i have heard conflicting reports!

    Thanks in advance

In order to re-enter the UK, your dog must be microchipped, then vaccinated at least 21 days prior to traveling. If your pet is currently vaccinated and that vaccination was given prior to micro chipping, you should be fine. With a blue pet passport issued by a veterinarian in the EU, you will not have any problems traveling through the EU. Between one and five days of entering the UK, your pet will need a tapeworm test.
