  • Importing cross breeds into the UK?

Does anyone know if cross breeds can be imported into UK under personal pets travel scheme. The only airline from Cambodia handling pets is Cathay Pacific and they do not accept cross breeds. I don't know why. And is there a way round this?
    thank you

Alan - Whether your dog is a banned type depends on what it looks like, rather than its breed or name. You can find the characteristics veterinary officials will be looking for here: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/69263/dogs-guide-enforcers.pdf. If you are moving to the UK, you can apply for an exception to their Dangerous Dog law. As a visitor, you should be allowed entry, but bring a muzzle with you and be aware that offensive behavior will raise a red flag. Your pet's breed on the Annex form should be listed as "mixed breed" otherwise the airlines will have a problem with it. The airline's pet policy has nothing to do with DEFRA's policies. Did you try Malaysia Airlines? Korea Air also flies the route, but with a 6 hour layover in Seoul so not as attractive. Here is a copy of the UK Dangerous Dog legislation: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1991/65/section/1
